- I have been a teacher with the York Catholic DSB for 25 years and have taught just about every grade from JK to Gr. 12. Currently, I am a Consultant for Literacy, Grades 7-12. Reading and Writing have been like air and water to me my entire life. Cuddle up and read time with my children was always sacred time; no phone calls were taken, no interruptions were allowed. My Parents passed down to me the joy of sharing stories. I hope you'll enjoy the ones I write here.

Yes!
By teaching divergent thinking (analogies, metaphors, and visual thinking). The minute you get people to think visually (draw pictures or move, rather than sit and write points) something different happens in the room.
